HOCKEY ACADEMY

Baba Uttam Singh National Hockey Academy is one of the missionary activities run by Nishan-E-Sikhi Charitable Trust (Regd.) under the aegis of Kaar Sewa Khadur Sahib. Headed by charismatic leadership of Hon’ble Baba Sewa Singh, Mukh Sewadar of Kaar Sewa, the organization is providing commendable contribution in the field of education, environment, social welfare, Sports etc. The hockey academy was established in 2006 with the motive to instill the spirit of sports, divert the youth from the evils of society and to combat drug addiction among youth. Academy is placing emphasis on education as well as hockey.

Coaches and other staff:-

• Chief Coach— S. Balkar Singh (Ex. Serviceman).
• Coach—S. Balwinder Singh.
• Junior Coach – Tajbir Singh.
• Hostel Manager- Avtar Singh.

For smooth functioning of the hockey academy special staff persons like manager, cook and helper for mess, sweeper and driver etc. are employed by the Trust.

FACILITIES:-

Various facilities are provided to then players. All the facilities are given without any charges:

1. BOARDING AND LODGING FACILITY:-

• Spacious accommodation is provided to the players.
• Special vegetarian mess is provided.
• All the preparations are done in pure desi ghee.
• Special diet includes cheese, milk, butter, desi ghee, fruits, dry fruits etc.
• Hygienic and fresh food is prepared and served with the old tradition of Langer.

2. HOCKEY EQUIPMENT:-

•  Complete Hockey Kits are provided to the players.

3. MEDICAL FACILITY:-

• Periodic checkups are done.

• Proper medical treatment is given in hospitals for major problems.
• Medical dispensary is functioning to take care of the health problem of the players.

4. EDUCATION FACILITY:-

•  Free education and books are given to the players.

5. BUS FACILITY:-

•  Hockey Academy has a special bus for the player’s movement.
