To adorn Gurdwara Sahib, Schools and colleges in natural way, landscaping has been undertaken with the help of experts in this field. Landscaping at Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib Complex, Khadur Sahib bestows the pilgrims with delight and happiness by its natural beauty. While celebrating tercentenary of completion of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji , SGPC gave the assignment of landscaping Gurdwara Damdama Sahib, Sabo Ki Talwandi to Baba Sewa Singh Ji, Chairman, Nishan-E-Sikhi Charitable Trust vide their letter No 9450/8.12 dated February 17, 2006. The work of landscaping was undertaken with the help of an expert in this field. Two parks (one on each side of the link road to Gurdwara Sahib) of the size 90 ft by 1200 ft and 130 ft by 1500 ft were developed along with beautiful boundary wall decorated with grills and stones. Shady and flowering trees were planted along the link road. Parks were decorated with beautiful lawns, flowering plants and 22 varieties of fruit trees. This work is worth visiting. Landscaping work at Nishan-E-Sikhi complex is also nearing completion.
Planting Special Trees
Some trees like Banyan & Peepal produce more amount of Oxygen and also provide shelter to birds. Considering this aspect in view,around 2500 trees of Banyan and Peepal have been planted at some special places. Besides, 100 "Triveni" (special combination of Banyan, Peepal & Neem) have also been planted
Baba Sewa Singh Ji understands the importance of Prashad among devotees, who believe that it has been blessed by the Almighty. Baba ji utilizes the faith to sensitise devotees to the importance of planting trees. After explaining the importance of trees, he gives a sapling to each devotee as Prashad, who readily accept and plant the same, taking into account the religious context. They look after the planted tree with devotion and take keen interest to keep it in healthy condition. So far thousands of saplings have been distributed to devotees.
