Sri Guru Hargobind Public School, Gohad, Distt. Gawalior (MP)
This school was established by Baba Sewa Singh Ji, Chief Administrator of Kaar Sewa , Khadur Sahib to provide quality education to the children of this educationally backward area in the year 1997. After making it financially self sustainable, the school was handed over to the local management “Shri Guru Hargovind Sahib Shiksha Prasaar Samiti”, Buti Kuian, Gohad (M.P.).
Initially, the school provided English medium education from L.K.G. to class VI. School’s new building was inaugurated by honorable Minister M.S. Gill (former Chief election commissioner) along with tree plantation on 22 January 1999. Many distinguish personalities like caretaker election commissioner M.P. Chambal Division, Contemporary Commissioner also planted trees on this great occasion.
The school is providing education from L.K.G. to class twelve with faculties like Science, Commerce, Maths & Humanities. The school committee is planning to upgrade this school to a college level to provide higher education to the students of this educationally backward area. Student strength is nearly 1000.
This institution also teaches Gurmukhi script and Punjabi Language to Sikhs living in remote area to make them aware of their rich culture and heritage. However, there is no binding on learning Gurmukhi & Punjabi Language to the students from other communities. The S.G.P.C. Amritsar conducts its religious examination in MP and other states from time to time. A number of students of this school have secured top positions in these examinations, sports and extracurricular activities. Admission of this school is opened to students of all communities and religion. This school is affiliated to M.P.S.E.B. board Bhopal.
